Ann Smith, Resident Ambassador
After taking a bad fall with extensive complications, Ann Smith got on the road to recovery with the help of her devoted children as they navigated long hospital and rehab stays. “I never had any previous health issues, so it was all new to me.” Ann’s next stop was The Oaks at Flower Mound, where she’s been diligent with onsite physical therapy and has found reassurance in the attentiveness of associates and caregivers at the community.

In her role as Director of Memory Care, LeeAnn Evans is most proud of the meaningful relationships being created on all levels at The Oaks at Flower Mound. “I just love the relationships that we are able to build with our residents. Whether between residents, associates, family members and fellow management, it’s the teamwork and kindness that make our community truly special.”
LeeAnn’s extensive nursing career, nurturing background and experience in memory care all help contribute to the loving, family-like atmosphere at The Oaks.

For Evelina Andrea, a passion for helping others has always come naturally — whether guiding her younger siblings or mentoring first-year college students. As Lifestyles Coordinator in Memory Care at The Oaks, she channels her strengths into creative programming and curated activities fitting the interests and preferences of our residents with memory loss. “I’ve always gravitated toward caring for people, but what has really elevated it for me has been the daily interactions with residents. I love sitting down with them and getting to know their stories.”

Chef John Knoten, Director of Dining
As Director of Dining at The Oaks at Flower Mound, John Knoten draws from his strong background in fast-paced kitchens as well as the knowledge he inherited from generations of wonderful cooks in his family. He relishes the opportunity to spend time getting to know residents, listen to their feedback and create a high-level culinary experience centered around the community’s signature hospitality. “We put our all into every meal and take pride in preparing and plating every meal as if it’s an expensive restaurant.”

Kalista Gibson, Director of Entertainment & Programs
Affectionately known as “Red” around the community, Kalista Gibson utilizes her role as Director of Entertainment & Programs to create connections among residents – in addition to helping them have a lot of fun. She is inspired by the diverse backgrounds of each individual and appreciates the opportunity to spend time with the older population. “Every activity we do is an opportunity to learn more about each other and hear someone else’s story. The stories that you hear when engaging with this generation are unlike anything you can ever hear again.”

Shameka Lee is best known around The Oaks at Flower Mound for her smiling face and cheerful disposition. She spends her days fulfilling her role as a Medical Technician and Caregiver in both Assisted Living and Memory Care; however, she’ll do whatever it takes to help residents with anything they need.
