As Director of Dining at The Oaks at Flower Mound, John Knoten draws from his strong background in fast-paced kitchens as well as the knowledge he inherited from generations of wonderful cooks in his family. He relishes the opportunity to spend time getting to know residents, listen to their feedback and create a high-level culinary experience centered around the community’s signature hospitality. “We put our all into every meal and take pride in preparing and plating every meal as if it’s an expensive restaurant.”

Kalista Gibson, Director of Entertainment & Programs
Affectionately known as “Red” around the community, Kalista Gibson utilizes her role as Director of Entertainment & Programs to create connections among residents – in addition to helping them have a lot of fun. She is inspired by the diverse backgrounds of each individual and appreciates the opportunity to spend time with the older population. “Every activity we do is an opportunity to learn more about each other and hear someone else’s story. The stories that you hear when engaging with this generation are unlike anything you can ever hear again.”

Since losing her parents at a young age, Britt Heidrich hoped to one day work with older adults and benefit from intergenerational relationships. “Every day I am grateful because I have the opportunity to make people’s days a little better in the later stage of life.”

Shameka Lee, Medical Technician/Caregiver
Shameka Lee is best known around The Oaks at Flower Mound for her smiling face and cheerful disposition. She spends her days fulfilling her role as a Medical Technician and Caregiver in both Assisted Living and Memory Care; however, she’ll do whatever it takes to help residents with anything they need.

Gloria Burba, Assisted Living Resident
Moving to The Oaks at Flower Mound made a lot of sense for Gloria Burba and her husband Von – once his cancer progressed, they wanted to have on-site assistance as well as be closer to family. The compassionate caregivers at The Oaks were a blessing to them during his illness and when Von eventually passed away, Gloria was grateful for a close-knit community of support and friendship.
“It’s an extended family. I have my children of course, but the caregivers, staff and friends here have become an extended family and made this my home.”

Sally Puckett, Assisted Living Resident
After spending much of her life as a health and physical education teacher, Sally Puckett has continued to serve others and give back to the community since coming to The Oaks at Flower Mound. Her role as an ambassador for new residents suits her perfectly, and she also shares her interests by leading of the community prayer circle and tai chi classes.

Eddie Feldman, Regional Sales Strategist
In his role as Regional Sales Strategist, Eddie Feldman loves to see how quickly new residents adjust and become comfortable after moving into The Oaks at Flower Mound. “The best part of what I do is seeing a resident 30 days after they’ve moved in and they are thriving – getting involved in activities, meeting new friends, setting up lunch dates and having a great time.”
